Gastronorm containers - defined standard for every kitchen
GN containers - a standard that has revolutionised kitchen equipment
The gastro standard EN 631 from 1993, which goes back to a standard established in Switzerland some 30 years earlier, defines a system for container formats in professional kitchens, that is now recognised and used worldwide. Starting with the basic GN 1/1 size, which corresponds to 32.5 by 53 centimetres, various basic dimensions are defined concerning this. Each basic size is available in various useful heights.
All Gastronorm containers can be stacked inside one another and are suitable for robust use in everyday kitchen life. They are safe to use following overall food legislation, dishwasher-safe and can also be cooled and heated, depending on the material. There are different handle and lid solutions, depending on where the GN containers are used.
Gastronorm containers at thermohauser
The thermohauser product range includes GN containers made of stainless steel and plastic.
The stainless-steel variants are optionally available with or without a matching lid. The Gastronorm containers have retractable handles on the sides with which they can be easily lifted out of a water bath or placed in a buffet display, for example. The lids are heat-resistant up to +180 °C.
The transparent Gastronorm containers made of plastic (PP) can be used between -40 °C and +70 °C. They are also dishwasher-safe and are available with or without a lid. Two lid variants are available – one is a simple push-on lid with handle and the other is a tight-closing lid.
