SAN display trays – the practical alternative

SAN is a plastic consisting of styrene and acrylonitrile, which is safe for use with food and has a hard surface that makes it strong and resistant to impacts and scratches. SAN is also resistant to damage from fruit acid, which is an attractive feature in kitchens, for example for use with fruit and vegetables.
Contact with hot food or water is no problem either as the trays can be exposed for brief periods to temperatures up to +100°C, including boiling water. SAN is generally described as a plastic that is resistant to thermal shock. After use, it is best to wash the trays under hot running water with some washing up liquid to protect their attractive appearance.
